Birthday Boys' debut release Bad Blood opens with, "I took a hooker named Belle to a cheap motel, I spread her all over the place," and while it's a grimy little line it's also an instant indication this record is something unique.

It's a dirty little album that puts the sex and drugs back into rock 'n' roll. Anxious chanting and unparalleled ferocity highlight "Vigorous Friction" and "The Drug," showing off the band's ability to write damn good blue-collar rock songs. Other tracks like "Making Room For Grace" and "Hiss" just make you wanna fuck.

Birthday Boys' whisky tongues and tearing guitars undoubtedly make this one of the best debuts I've heard in a long time. Loaded with swank, swagger and soul, this is a band that won't stay unsigned for long. Do yourself a favour and see Birthday Boys now before you have to spend $300 on scalped tickets from Craigslist. - CHARTattack

Meet The Stanfields, a maelstrom of rock ‘n’ roll, Celtic and bluegrass. Hailing from the gritty post-industrial towns of Nova Scotia, The Stanfields play every show like it’s their collective last night on earth.
